On Sunday July 4th members of Chapter X met at the Alexis Diner in Newburgh for our annual Ride in Iggy’s memory. After a nice breakfast and some story telling about some of Iggy’s antics, we got under way for what was a very easy and simple ride, but it was a route that Iggy rode often. Legend has it that there was a secret location somewhere along that route that had one of Iggy’s favorite beers which, we do not know what the beer was nor his secret place of purchase. After crossing the Bear Mountain Bridge, the group made a quick stop at the Fort Montgomery Historic site for a leg stretch and a photo op. From there we rode back to New Windsor and stopped outside of Iggy’s former residence for a moment of silence. Each year Chapter X will do this ride in memory of our brother Iggy’s.
Chapter X held our traditional Father’s Day Gathering on June 20th but with a twist. This year we offered 2 rides, one off road and one on road, both with the same lunch destination prior to the gathering at Motorcyclepedia. We not only had 2 different rides but also offered overnight camping at Sylvan Lake Campgrounds Saturday night. Many thanks to Chapter X’s MEC Doug Watson who manages the facility and arranged for our campsite!!!! Doug also stepped up and created a nice route and led the pavement ride. Ron Breau, Chapter Educator, put together and led a very nice gravel road route. Many of these back roads have significant historical histories. Both groups met at Handsome Devil’s BBQ for a great lunch before heading over to the museum for the gathering. A great time was had by all!!
Great for a new rider! Ladies, perfect for you! This has been a great bike to me but I’m ready to upgrade now. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. Tires, brakes, everything is good. Just passed inspection. Just changed oil. 12k miles. $1800 obo

Dear Chapter X Family,
It is with much sadness that I tell you that we lost a great man, dear friend and a Brother on Sunday April 4, 2020. Ignatius “Iggy” George passed from this life from complications of the Covid-19 virus.
Iggy was one of the “Original 3” Chapter X members and a member of GWRRA since 2000. Along with Paul and Ron Breau, Iggy and the Breau brothers were the force behind the creation of Chapter X in 2010. Iggy was the first Chapter X Treasurer from 2010-2013 He and Lloyda were District Chapter of the Year Coordinator “COY Coordinator” from 2013-2014 and served as NY District MEC’s.
Just by coincidence, 14 riders met early that day in the 84 Diner parking lot to go on an impromptu ride, no plan, no destination. We all knew there would be no lunch stop or anything like that as everything would be closed but we chose to ride anyway if for no other reason to enjoy some wind therapy. We finished our ride, and most were back home by 3:00. It wasn’t long after that I received the call from Alex telling me that Iggy was gone. Thinking back, I can remember when I first became part of Chapter X around 2011 and met Iggy for the first time. I wondered what I had gotten myself into but, as time passed and I got to know Iggy our friendship grew. If you met Iggy once you never forgot him. Today as Chapter Director I could always count on Iggy to make his entrance 45 minutes to an hour into the gathering, usually when I would be mid-sentence. When it came to Chapter Rides there were 2 KSU times, “real time” and “Iggy time”, we all knew and totally accepted the later start because that was our Iggy!
I’m going to miss all these things and more greatly.
Ernie VanDeMark, NY Chapter X Director
